Glowforge
The Glowforge is a laser cutter and engraver available for use in The Studio.
Anyone interested in using the Glowforge must become certified through our Studio Journey training program and have a valid GPL library card or Studio Access card.
Certification
There are two options to get certified:
- Attend an in-person certification class that will certify you on our four large equipment in The Studio: Glowforge Laser Cutter, Cricut Smart Cutter, Epson Photo Scanner, and Prusa 3D Printer. Class is offered monthly. Call us at 317-881-1953 or register online for the Studio 101: Equipment Certification program.
- Complete a self-paced certification online through our Studio Journey training online by creating an account on beanstack.
Appointments
Appointments with Studio staff are required to use the Glowforge. A valid GPL library card or Studio Access card is required to use the equipment in The Studio. Appointments are limited to 2-hour blocks up to once a week. Call us at 317-881-1953 or e-mail our Studio Specialist at sdeitz@greenwoodlibrary.us to schedule an appointment.
Materials
The Glowforge is capable of cutting and engraving many materials up to 1/2" thick. Your certification process will introduce you to safe and popular materials. Any non-Proofgrade materials must be tested and approved by a Studio staff member.
